The Peach Garden

《桃花源》

200x150cm

Oil on Canvas

2021

While Song’s inflating bodies expand due to the universal and natural laws that govern human development, The Peach Garden explores how humans inversely shapes their natural environments. Diamond-shaped peaches and angular leaves grow on a lurid blue tree branch. Their inorganic shapes call to mind the various ways that humans intervene in the natural world, from grafting and crossbreeding plants to more detrimental processes of extraction and pollution, interventions that impact both human and natural life.
