In Inflating Heart Series, Song includes non-human bodies among the familiar human figures of his Inflating Series: animals, food, planetary, robotic. Each body is cropped within uniform rhomboid frames, pictured from an angle that emphasizes its curvature: the edge of a moon, a frog from above, theshining skin of an apple and dimpled edges of a strawberry. Humans are not the only figures bound to the physics of expansion and containment; rather, more universal forces connect human and natural ecosystems.
